ST. GEORGE, Utah – + Video – The old saying ‘families that eat together,’ stay together seems to hold some truth. Statistics show that teenagers who eat dinner with their families at least 5-7 times a week, are one-third less likely to be involved in underage drinking.

The Washington County Prevention Coalition and Southwest Prevention kicked off the “Parents Empowered” campaign Monday night by inviting families to free pizza from Dominos and engaging in conversation.

The coalition and community leaders joined together in support of family mealtime to encourage positive talk about topics that are sometimes difficult to talk about.
